Portrait of a Bride-to-Be: Tori

I'm going to kick off my bride-to-be portrait series with Tori's interview in anticipation of her bridal shower this weekend!

First, let's meet the beautiful bride:

I've known about Tori since high school, but we didn't become friends until she started dating Alex's friend several years ago. Tori is an interior designer and green thumb extraordinaire with an amazing style and I love reading her blog on a daily basis.

You can find Tori's wedding inspiration board here.

Now let's hear about how her classy wedding affair is coming along in her own words...

How would you define your style in general (using 3 words or phrases)?
Classic, traditional, and relaxed.

Which celebrity or character in a movie, book, etc. do you feel you most resemble (or want to resemble)?
If this is regarding weddings, I would say Daisy Buchannan, living it grandesque! Kidding. But realistically Annie Banks from Father of the Bride. After all I am daddy's girl!

How would you define your wedding style (using 3 words or phrases)?
Simple, understated, and fresh.

What did you dream your wedding day would be like when you were little?
Vacationing in Kauai growing up I always imagine getting married on the balcony of the Princeville Hotel right at sunset - with the emerald flash right as we kissed. Hopeless romantic, right? There would be strung plumerias atop us and a huge pig roast luau with music and dancers after.

What do you anticipate will be your favorite wedding details?
I am hoping the photos, this way we can look back for years to come and be reminded of EVERY detail! If I had to narrow it down though, it would would be the groomsmen ties and bridesmaid bouquets that match.

What has been your favorite part about the planning process?
My dress! This duppioni silk dress my mothers sisters and cousins a making me. It's a community effort and is spectacular!

What has been your least favorite wedding planning task?
Narrowing down the guest list to 250 guests! We want everyone to be there, but with our preliminary list topping 300 it's just not possible. Le sigh.

Is there a married couple you admire and hope for your marriage to emulate?
My cousin Kendra and her husband Jeremy. They are quite admirable! [I understand why! Read Kendra's inspiring words of wisdom on Tori's blog here.]

Here is a sneak peek at some of her wedding details that have been shared with me so far:

These shoes her bridesmaids surprised her with at the bachelorette party are SO amazing!

J.Crew's Evie stripe peep-toe pumps

And can you identify her gorgeous wedding invitation in the stack of pretty mail here?

I just can't get enough navy stripe!

I am so excited for your big day, Tori, and wish you a blissful marriage!
